Pros & Cons for Facebook Business Page

Facebook for business image

I set out this morning to create a Pro and Con list on Facebook business pages for a short blog post and I have failed. After a good few hours of researching, I have been drawn to the conclusion there are no cons. Well none that I think are relevant to us as users of a Facebook business page. So, I am going to go ahead and detail below my PRO list for Facebook business pages:

  • Facebook is one of largest social media platforms with 'As of the first quarter of 2017, Facebook had 1.94 billion monthly active users' referenced from www.statista.com. I am sure I read somewhere that the average Facebook users spends 50 minutes a day on Facebook. 50 minutes!

  • Brand awareness - using Facebook page for your business allows you to create images (profile images and cover images) of your logo. You can also share pictures of current work or completed projects and products which may include branding and any sign written vehicles. The more people recognise your branding, the more likely they will use your services in the future!

  • Facebook allows you to categorise your business page which allows for keyword searching. This can help increase reach and likes when users use the keyword search function when looking for something specific. This helps your target market find YOU!

  • Easy to update and maintain - there are many different apps which allow for scheduling posts, a great time saver! Facebook Pages app, Hootsuite and Buffer are a couple that come to mind.

  • Multiple admins can also be added to help maintain the page and spread the workload.

  • Customers can easily keep up to date with news, products and special offers. The right special offer or competition can dramatically increase your reach. For example, 'Like and comment on the post for a chance to win' always goes down well!

  • Page interaction & engagement - Facebook creates a forum that allows users to engage and interact with current customers and target audiences and build a relationship.

  • New customer gain - every time a user interacts with your business page whether it is a new like or a comment, Facebook can post this interaction on the user’s friends news feed for them to see and therefore increase your page reach and create an opportunity for new likes!

  • Low cost advertising with Facebook, you can create ads and boost posts to specifically targeted audiences which is relatively low cost considering the potential reach this could gain.

  • Use of Facebook analytic tools allows users to see how pages and ads are performing and give a good indication of what is going well or if anything could be improved on. An invaluable resource if you are using Facebook for marketing - if you ask me!

  • The review function on a page is a great resource. It allows for feedback and helps to build your reputation which can give new customers peace of mind. It is a good way to gauge what customers think of your products and services and what, if anything, can be improved on.

  • Facebook Business also has a huge selection of help pages and FAQs that you can use to help to make the most of Facebook and what it can do for your business.

  • Your Facebook page can be used to drive traffic to your business website by using call to action prompts within your posts and content.

So, there you have it. My pro list for Facebook business page. As you can see there are a few reasons as to why Facebook page is indeed an absolute invaluable resource for any business, big or small. Even if it is just for brand awareness and to get your business an online presence - I cannot recommend Facebook enough! So, guys and girls, get your business on Facebook today!
